My husband and I recently began to share time together each evening as we work toward being “Intentional” in our marriage and in our time together. Part of this includes questions, devotions, and prayer. One such question was “What has been the most formative event in your life and how has it impacted you?” My answer was simple: my decision to follow Christ. This one decision has effected every area of my life and every decision I make. My relationship with HIM dictates every other relationship in my life.
Before I belong to anyone else, even myself, I am HIS. He has called me by name, chosen me before the foundation of the world to be His, staked His claim upon me and engraved my name upon the palm of His hand. He has loved me with a greater love than I have ever known. I am no longer my own. I have been bought with the greatest price imaginable-the very blood of my redeemer. He knows me-every single part of me-to the deepest core. He knows the pieces of my heart and soul hidden even to myself. And yet, He loves me-boldly, unashamedly, ardently!
Have you found yourself feeling unloved, unwanted, rejected?
God has not rejected you! He chose you, picked you to be His own. He desires your heart and wants to make a point of revealing His heart to you and lavishing His love upon you. He is all the things true love is. In truth, He is love: patient, kind, confident, trustworthy, faithful, forgiving. He believes in you and has hopeful plans for you. He asks for only one thing: YOU!
But you are God’s chosen treasure —priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world. For at one time you were not God’s people, but now you are. At one time you knew nothing of God’s mercy, because you hadn’t received it yet, but now you are drenched with it!
I Peter 2:9 TPT
You are loved, my friend! You are wanted and chosen. You are a treasure! You are HIS!
