Broken Vessel

I am a vessel
Broken, Shattered, Earthern
Having walked through narrow places
Pressed by walls of my own making
Crushed, Beyond repair
Powder, Dust
Fractured, I lost heart
Heavy, the shadow of shame
Yet heavier still the Spirit of Mercy
Hovering above the chaos of my soul
Moving across the depths of my heart
Wrapping Himself around the dark and shattered pieces
Those sharp edges cutting, piercing
Blood Spilling from hand and feet and side

I DID THIS
this killing of THE ONE who was born to make me whole
Yet life springs and resurrects
Light walks out of dark, imprisoning tombs
FOR ME
FOR YOU
Simple jars of clay

He gently bends down, wipes tears
sets me back upon the path
He take my hand and sets himself before me
"Where are we going, Lord?"
He looks at me, compassion pours like soaking rain.
"HOME!"

Scriptures to Consider:

  • Isaiah 59
    • Behold the hand of Yahweh is not so short that it cannot save, nor his ear so dull that it cannot hear. BUt your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God…your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies and your tongue mutters unrighteousness…Yet a Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from transgression…”
  • Isaiah 1:18
    • “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord, “though your sins are lie scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”
