Still There

A cool front has moved in. A mist covers the sky and I can barely see the outlines of the mountains I know are there. I see them each morning as I sit on my balcony drinking my coffee. I watch the sun set gloriously behind the peaks each evening as the evening becomes the new day.

Sometimes I can’t see God. I don’t feel His presence. But like the mighty mountains He is unmoved. There are things happening in, on, and beneath the mountains we know nothing about. It is vast. Shiftings and movements never cease-even in the stillness.

Yet we know-even in the darkness, even when a mist hides Him from view. Why? Because we’ve seen Him before. He has said He would never leave, never forsake, never fail. He is there. This is faith. This is trust. Only believe.
